Adjunct LAW Instructor (Online Assignment Possibilities)

Adjunct Instructors are temporary, part-time faculty.  Antelope Valley College invites applications for our applicant pool for the LAW discipline.

As an instructor in the growing Social and Behavioral Science division, you will become a member of a student-orientated division whose primary focus is helping students attain their career goals. 

• Instruct students in the assigned discipline        
• Assignment may include teaching courses during the day, evening, and/or off-campus sites

Applicant must meet one of the following requirements

Most current Minimum Qualifications for Faculty in California Community Colleges:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) OR Legum Baccalaureus (LL.B.) 

(NOTE: Courses in aspects of law for application to a particular discipline may be classified, for minimum qualifications purposes in the discipline of the application.)

• Antelope Valley College Equivalency: Equivalency not needed, per faculty division
• AND a sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students (tit. 5 § 53024.1).

• Experience and willingness to teach online classes.
• Experience and/or willingness to teach dual enrollment courses at high school site

  • Foreign transcripts and degrees require official certification of equivalency to U.S. transcripts and degrees by a certified U.S. review service at the time of application and must identify graduate level coursework.
  • Any evaluation service member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Service (NACES) http://www.naces.org/ is acceptable.
• Two (2) current letters of professional reference signed and dated within the last year.
• Travel expenses for pre-employment interviews and employment processing will not be authorized.

• Applicants may be subject to passing an examination (written/technical), as appropriate to the requirements of the position. 
• Residency within a reasonable geographical area of the college may be necessary.
