Position Summary

High Caliber Organics is seeking an experienced and motivated Manager – Flower & Deleafing to oversee the daily operations of our Flower and Deleafing departments. This position will lead a team of approximately 13 employees, including department leads and Quality Control personnel.

The Manager will coordinate daily work, assign tasks, monitor productivity and quality, train and coach employees, address performance and attendance concerns, and ensure operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and according to company standards.

This is a hands-on leadership position. The Manager will occasionally work alongside the team but must also step away from production responsibilities to complete management duties such as employee supervision, scheduling, performance reviews, documentation, and communication with the Cultivation Manager, General Manager, and Human Resources.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Supervise and provide leadership to approximately 13 employees across the Flower and Deleafing departments.
  • Assign and prioritize daily tasks based on production needs and established weekly staffing schedules.
  • Provide coaching, training, direction, and ongoing feedback to employees and department leads.
  • Monitor productivity, quality, attendance, work performance, and adherence to company policies.
  • Ensure employees follow established procedures, safety requirements, PPE, sanitation, and quality standards.
  • Work with department leads and Quality Control to maintain consistent production and quality standards.
  • Monitor workflow and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality.
  • Maintain department organization, cleanliness, and appropriate working conditions.
  • Address employee performance, attendance, and conduct concerns professionally and promptly.
  • Document performance concerns and work with Human Resources when corrective or disciplinary action is necessary.
  • Recommend disciplinary action with Human Resources guidance.
  • Participate in employee performance reviews and provide meaningful feedback regarding performance and development.
  • Recommend employees for additional responsibilities, advancement, or leadership opportunities.
  • Recommend termination when appropriate; final employment decisions will be made in coordination with Human Resources and company leadership/legal counsel.
  • Communicate staffing, operational, quality, and employee concerns to the Cultivation Manager and General Manager.
  • Follow the weekly schedule established by the General Manager while managing daily work assignments and priorities.
  • Adjust daily assignments as operational needs change and communicate significant staffing concerns to management.
  • Work alongside employees when necessary during periods of increased workload or staffing needs.
  • Balance hands-on production responsibilities with administrative and supervisory duties.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding employee and company information.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Previous management or supervisory experience.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to effectively coach employees, provide feedback, and hold employees accountable.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to address employee performance and conduct concerns professionally.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions within the scope of the position.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must successfully complete any required background screening.
  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
  • Ability to work a variable schedule, including occasional weekends.
Preferred:

  • Experience managing teams of 10 or more employees.
  • Experience in production, manufacturing, agriculture, cultivation, warehouse, or another fast-paced operational environment.
  • Cannabis industry or cultivation experience.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.
  • Experience with quality control, scheduling, and employee performance management.
Cannabis cultivation experience is not required. Training will be provided on company-specific cultivation procedures, systems, and processes.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in an active cultivation environment. The Manager must be able to stand and walk for extended periods; bend, kneel, squat, and reach; lift and carry up to 50 pounds; perform repetitive physical tasks when necessary; work in warm and humid cultivation conditions; work around cannabis plants and associated odors; and wear required PPE.

The Manager may occasionally perform the same physical duties as department employees while maintaining overall supervisory responsibilities. Reasonable accommodations may be considered for qualified individuals with disabilities in accordance with applicable law.

The Manager is expected to lead by example and maintain a professional, respectful, and accountable workplace. The successful candidate will communicate expectations clearly, treat employees fairly and respectfully, address issues promptly, maintain appropriate management boundaries, protect confidential information, and work collaboratively with Human Resources, the Cultivation Manager, and General Manager.

Compensation & Schedule

Pay Range: $28.00–$32.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

This is a full-time, hourly/non-exempt position. The normal schedule is Monday–Friday; however, schedules may vary based on business and operational needs. Occasional weekend work may be required.
