As a Registered Dietetic Technician (DTR), you will play an important role in supporting the nutritional care of hospitalized patients. Working closely with Registered Dietitians and interdisciplinary care teams, you will assist with patient nutrition screenings, education, and counseling while helping ensure patients receive the nutritional support needed for their recovery and overall well-being.

What You'll Do

As a Registered Dietetic Technician (DTR), you will support the delivery of quality nutrition care for hospitalized patients. Responsibilities include:

Perform inpatient nutrition screenings to identify patients at nutritional risk.
Collaborate with Registered Dietitians to support nutrition care plans.
Provide nutrition education and diet counseling to patients and families.
Document nutrition-related information in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
Partner with interdisciplinary care teams to support positive patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

The registered Dietetic Technician (DRT) will be responsible for providing screening to patients in the inpatient setting. The DTR will work closely with registered Dietitians and will assist with providing diet counseling and education to both patients and families.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

Diet Technician Registration/Certification required.
Completion of an Accredited Dietetic Technician program required.
Current registration as a Dietetic Technician through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) required.
Minimum of one (1) year in a clinical healthcare setting preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Food and Nutrition, Dietetics preferred.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $23.00 to $28.11. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
