POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Controller provides strategic financial leadership and oversight for the organization. This role is responsible for financial planning, reporting, controls, compliance, and operational finance support while partnering closely with executive leadership to drive profitability, efficiency, and long-term growth.

The Senior Controller ensures the integrity of financial information, leads and develops the finance team, and serves as a trusted advisor on financial strategy and risk management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership

  • Serve as a key financial advisor to executive leadership on strategic initiatives and business decisions
  • Collaborate with ownership and cross-functional peers on the integration of the private member drivers club
  • Translate organizational strategy into financial plans, forecasts, and performance metrics
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, systems, and controls

 

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Oversee all accounting and finance functions, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, fixed assets, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Ensure timely, accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
  • Lead preparation and analysis of financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and internal policies

 

Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis

  • Lead annual budgeting and long-range financial planning processes
  • Monitor financial performance and provide insights to improve margins, cost controls, and operational efficiency
  • Partner with department leaders to support financial accountability and planning

Controls, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls and financial governance
  • Oversee audits, tax compliance, and coordination with external auditors and advisors
  • Identify and mitigate financial, operational, and compliance risks

 

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop finance and accounting teams
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure appropriate staffing, training, and performance management

 

Cross-Functional & Operational Support

  • Collaborate with operations, legal, HR, and other departments to support business initiatives
  • Lead or support system implementations, integrations, and process automation as needed

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA, CPA, or CMA strongly preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including senior leadership roles
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Proven experience leading teams and managing complex financial operations
  • Advanced proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong executive presence with exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in sports, entertainment, or hospitality
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial system implementations
  • Demonstrated success driving financial transformation or operational efficiency initiatives
