Position Summary

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for assisting the Program Manager and Corporate Human Resources at the ground level in routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department.

Essential Functions of the Position

  • Advises managers on organizational policy matters and recommends needed changes.
  • Identifies staff vacancies and recruits, interviews, and selects applicants.
  • Plans and conducts new employee orientations to foster positive attitudes toward organizational objectives.
  • Analyzes training needs and coordinates training activities.
  • Facilitates the grievance process as described in the Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • Provides current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, and other work-related information.
  • Analyzes statistical data and reports to identify and determine causes of personnel problems.
  • Develops recommendations for improvement of organization's personnel policies and practices.
  • Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes.
  • Prepares and follows budgets for personnel operations. Maintains records and compiles statistical reports concerning personnel-related data.
  • Conducts exit interviews to identify reasons for employee termination.
  • Assists with documentation concerning grievances, terminations, absences and performance reports.
  • Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.
  • Maintains knowledge of labor laws, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Partners with leaders and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase retention, and foster positive environment.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned

Physical Demands

  • Required to walk, stand, sit, and move about the property for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

  • Indoor/Outdoor; exposure to external environmental conditions possible.
  • Noise level can range from minimal to intense.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years in Human Resources
  • Availability to work swing shift hours
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English.
  • Must be adaptable, flexible, and able to adjust to new or changing instructions.
  • Must be able to multi-task and complete assignments accurately and on time.
  • Possess a Valid Drivers’ License

Preferred Qualifications

  • PHR or SHRM-CP Certification
